more about Dominique
I grew up in the south of France and moved to London, England, aged 18 where I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and starting teaching. After 8 years, I moved to Barcelona where I started teaching in an international school. My horizons suddenly opened and I realized that there was a whole world out there that I needed to explore!
After 2 years in Barcelona, I started my educational leadership career as Head of the Languages Faculty at the British School Manila and I never looked back! I learned what it means to be part of a creative team of leaders who strive to make their vision for international education come true. After four years in the position, I wondered whether education was really for me and decided to take a year out in 2009. I traveled in Central America and Bali to pursue my favorite sport, surfing as well as deepen my practice of yoga.
Realizing that leading learning was an intrinsic part of me brought me to the position of Head of Languages at West Island School, Hong Kong. I owe so much to West Island School as during my time there I learned from an outstanding team of leaders and I was able to complete my Leadership and Change MA with the Hong Kong Institute of Education. 3 years later, I was on the move again and I arrived at Dwight School NYC in August 2013. There, I brought cohesion to a department of 21 teachers in school and 10-15 external teachers, from 15 different nationalities! I was also able to continue in my role as workshop leader for the International Baccalaureate Organization.
My own studies in leadership revolutionized the way I approached my job and after training in Brain Based Coaching with the NeuroLeadership Institute in NYC, I felt compelled to combine all these aspects of myself. Lead With A Twist was born!
A few more ways to get to know me:
- I am a contributor for Thrive Global as I love writing about all things coaching, and self-leadership!
- I run the Women for Holistic Leadership Lean In circle in NYC.
- Finally, I will brag a little by saying that I was a recipient of the Juno Residency at the Omega Women's Leadership Center.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you!
